Dust

How
you want to be air
passing
like the wind
transparent
illusive.
But you leave your traces
like
dust
it
spreads
over
where you've been
and
settles in
for
the duration.
Oh
it was itchy
when
it was new
falling
like pollen
on
my days.
I
took it for earth
and
tried to mold it
until
my hands
were
numb
and
rocks
grew
in my stomach.
Currents
changed
and
you
were
in the air
but
not to touch
I
tried
not
to breathe.
Sweeping
and shaking
only
stirred
old
itches.
Today
you
flow
comfortably
through
my rooms.
I
have grown used to
the
traces
of
your presence.
Consistent
Inconsistencies.
I can breathe.
It will take
quite
a storm
to
blow you out.
