Ascendant and Angles

The houses begin at the Ascendant. The Ascendant is the eastern horizon at the time of birth. The houses then occupy twelve divisions around the circle from that point.

Houses give information about in which area of life the energies we see will manifest. So there is a lot of extra information in having the birth time.

Birth time also gives us the angles of the chart. The Ascendant is the first angle, it describes the personality that people see in the subject, the projection of the personality on the world. The MidHeaven is the angle on the top of the chart that describes how you manifest your career energy into the world. The Descendant opposes the Ascendant and The Nadir opposes the MidHeaven, these angles describe more subtle inner forces of the personality.

The angles are very important areas of the chart and a transiting planet at that point will resound in your life.

This is why astrologers are always nagging you to find out your time and place of birth.
