Jupiter and Saturn are way out there and so move slowly in relationship to the Earth. Jupiter goes through one sign a year, Saturn takes twenty nine years to run through all the signs. This allows them to give a longer term energy to the chart. These planets signify the social world and our personal position in it, Jupiter in expansion and Saturn in structure.

Both expansion and structure are needed to exist in the larger world, but they are not always comfortable together. Yet one's ability to attain a growthful and secure adulthood will depend on assimilation of these energies.
