Minerals (Earth)
Earth energy is the energy of substance. Everything we have comes from Earth. This is your energy of supply and of nature and of grounding.
I keep a collection of minerals. It is not extensive, but it contains the important things… not unlike your grandmother’s medicine chest.
Minerals have a life of their own… it is slower than we experience life, but it is conscious. That is why they are such strong helpers. And you can feel their energy, it is subtle but it is there.
Use natural crystals, not the pretty, shiny cut points. Stay away from man made lead crystals or stones that are artificial. Use natural colors, stay away from minerals that are dyed.
These things are not expensive. You can usually get most of what you need at a local rock and mineral show. You’ll see the other metaphysicians choosing their stones and crystals by running their left hand over a display to find the one with the energy they need.
Minerals need clearing when you get them and then again every few months. Just put them in water with a bit of sea salt for this, leave them three days. I often just leave them in the sun from new moon to new moon. If you need to clear them quickly, just blow some sage smoke over them.
Earth informs the energy of the minerals. Earth is a living thing; don’t forget her energy when you are working. Bare feet on the ground is the very best way to ground your energy and let the Earth energy flow through you.
