The energies of the sacred directions exist in
many cultures. Most of the old earth religions used them in many
teachings. The directions exact energy varies a bit from culture to
culture, yet most of them adhere to this general form. Some cultures use
only the four directions, some six and others all seven mentioned here.
East: Illumination East is the entering point for the new. To do that we need to release old habits and allow the new to be what it is. Creativity comes from east forming the new energy to a new vision of potential. And East is the direction for exchange of energy, sharing our energy with others in exchange for their contribution to our lives.
South: Trust, Innocence South is the energy of the child. It is childlike wonder of how things are. Fun and play come from south. Fitness and physical balance are south energies. It is a place to find the child within with wonder and innocence.
West: Personal Regathering West is the bear cave where we go to hear our own head noises. West energy is experiencing stillness. In the stillness of west we can integrate information, and experience with our spirits. We can heal and reform our structure based on personal truth. In the west we find our true selves.
North: Wisdom North is the place of the wise ones. In seeking our own wisdom, we should approach North Spirit with forgiveness and gratitude. Be ready to listen to the wisdom of the ancestors and the teachers. By releasing attachments and seeing the gifts that life has brought us, we can open up to the wisdom that is offered.
Above: Inspiration The sky is the direction we turn to for inspiration and idealism. When we speak of the highest and best we think of above of the stars and we seek our vision of the purest actions we can take the most loving path the best solutions of all concerned.
Below: The Source The earth brings us every physical thing in our life. Food, drink, shelter, clothes all of these things come from the earth. The things that die back to the earth are transformed into new matter and all these things are the earth herself. She nourishes our body in our mother’s womb and receives us when we die.
Center: The Integrator The center, the heart of the circle, is the place where in consciousness we transform these energies into action and physical presence. The intention of the center informs the energy of the sacred circle and manifests it in life. Main Page |
